The Benaras Deaf & Dumb School Association is founded in Varanasi by compassionate philanthropists, providing education and support to children with hearing and speech impairments.

1970
1970:

With the generous donation of land by Mrs. Tarubala Ghosh in memory of her son, Bimal Chandra Ghosh, the school establishes its permanent home, marking a significant milestone in its journey.

In
1982
1982:

The school was added to the list of Grantee organisations to get the annual Grant-in-Aid from the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India in the year.

In
1994
1994:

The school was adjudged as one of the best out of 153 Grantee organisations short-listed by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India.

In
2005
2005:

The school was recognised as an institute of eminence for creating an innovative avenue for employment generation for Deaf people and was awarded by the then Governor of Uttar Pradesh.
